Hey there! I've got a few updates for you, and here they are:
* YouTube's "Subscriber Purge"
If you spend enough time on YouTube, you may have heard about YouTube deleting subscribers from people's channels due to inactivity. According to YouTube, what they did was remove any subscribers who closed their own accounts, had their accounts suspended/deleted for violations of YouTube's policies, or never interact with the channels they're subscribed to.
What does that last one mean for you? Basically, if you're a follower who never interacts with my videos, YouTube may remove you as a subscriber from my channel because they think your subscription doesn't count! This is one reason why I encourage everyone to like or dislike my videos, leave comments, add videos to favorites, and share my videos, because it ensures I won't lose you as a subscriber. And if you aren't subscribed, you run the risk of missing the new videos I post, and no one wants that to happen!
* Dislikes Are No Dilemma
I've had a few fans publicly express unhappiness and confusion at people passing through my channel and disliking some of my videos. According to Google Analytics, about 90% of all dislikes come from people who aren't even subscribed to me, meaning they stumbled across my videos while searching for something else and were disappointed to find that it wasn't what they were looking for, so they disliked the video to show their disappointment.
I appreciate you supporting me and having my back, but fear not! Dislikes don't bother me, and they don't negatively affect my channel, either. In fact, they actually help me out, because in order to dislike a video, you have to view it, which means each one adds to the video's total view count. Also, clicking the dislike button adds to a video's overall interaction, which means it's more likely to be seen across YouTube as a related/recommended video as a result.
* How Do Behind-the-Scenes Extras and Video Commissions Work?
Yes, I still fulfill fan-scripted video commissions for my patrons! To be specific, I allow fans who go the extra mile and support me by donating to email me a video idea that I will in turn film for them. It's the best incentive for crowdfunding I can think of, being a video-sharing platform and all.
Crowdfunding sites such as Patreon offer perks as incentive for fans who financially support a channel they love, and this is exactly what I'm doing by offering behind-the-scenes extras for my patrons. Simply send me an email and let me know if you're interested in taking advantage of the perks of becoming a No Deo Hero donor by viewing behind-the-scenes extras or by emailing me a video idea of your own, and I will gladly make it happen for you!
And that, folks, is everything I have to update you all on for now. I would like to thank all my fans, followers, and patrons for all the awesome support they've given me, because I wouldn't be successful without you.
My channel is growing by the day, and I'm happy to be on my way to 1,000 subscribers! Thanks again so much; you're all appreciated greatly!
